Event Proposals

ACCFutures is seeking big, bold thinkers to propose and host events. These events should be designed to invite audiences to reimagine the Port Lands as a future space for community, reconciliation, and innovation.

We are seeking 3 innovative, high-profile public events that will occur on-site between July and October 2023, depending on predetermined site activity. Applicants may submit ideas for a single event or all three.

Special events that will either be free, low-cost admission, or fundraisers will be given priority. The applicant will determine the length of time with a maximum of 1 week. These events can be dialogical, interactive, and/or productive with the intent to attract a strong turnout from Akwesasne, Cornwall, and beyond.

The starting sponsorship for each event is $15,000, but additional funds and in-kind donations may be solicited. Note: ACCFutures will also consider a singular event with a $45,000 budget if one proposed idea is very innovative and exciting.

All major events must be advertised with the acknowledgment of the sponsorship from Akwesasne Harbourfront Development Corporation and the Cornwall Harbourfront Development Corporation.

Organizers are encouraged to collaborate with other local groups with respect to funding and execution of the event.

Proposals must include the organizers’ names, contact information, type of event, and estimated cost.
